BTE-Barna: An extension of almaBTE for thermal simulation of devices based on 2D materials

We present BTE-Barna (Boltzmann Transport Equation - Beyond the Rta for NAnosystems), a software package that extends Monte Carlo (MC) module of almaBTE solver Peierls-Boltzmann transport equation phonons (PBTE) to work with nanosystems based on 2D materials complex geometries. To properly capture how phonon occupations evolve in momentum space as result scattering, we have supplemented relaxation-time approximation an implementation propagator full linearized version PBTE. The code can now find solutions finite and extended devices under effect thermal gradient, isothermal reservoirs or arbitrary initial temperature distribution time, writing out heat flux distributions well their spectral decompositions. Besides deviational MC solver, number useful approximations highly symmetric are also included.
